Driving through Glacier National Park

Where to stop along the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park.

The Going to the Sun road is the only road that goes through Glacier National Park, making it vital to getting around during your visit. This road offers multiple pull outs and overlooks that will take you though some of the park’s most iconic landmarks and views.

Getting in and around the park

In August 2021 vehicle reservations were required for the park, along with a pass. This might no longer be the case in 2024. Learn about what types of passes you can use at Glacier here: National Parks Service, Fees & Passes.

After camping in White Sulfur Springs, Montana we arrived at the entrance of Glacier National Park in the afternoon. The drive to Glacier took just under five hours which gave us ample time to curate the perfect playlist and reseach some of the places we wanted to visit within the park.
