While I’ve been skiing since I was a kid, I hadn’t purchased my own ski gear until 2022. With a seemingly never ending list of options to pick from I found myself procrastinating buying the well needed gear until right before the beginning of the season. After much debate I got new boots, ski bibs and a jacket for the 2022–2023 ski season.

Now in 2024, with 20+ days of use for all these items, I’m still super thrilled with my current gear and would recommend all my items. Here are my top picks to staying warm and enjoying the day on the mountain.

Jacket | Montec

I bought a Montec Jacket, specifically the Virago W in the color Dark Antlantic. The color was 100% decided on based on the fact that it would match my ski boots.

Why did I buy this? I wanted something that would last for many seasons of skiing to come and that would also look cute with my leggings and Uggs as I walked around mountain towns. This snow jacket has all the fancy features like underarm vents, a media pocket, a hood that fits over my helmet, snow skirt and a lift ticket pass pocket on the sleeve.

If you’re only skiing for a few days consider renting your gear.

Many people rent boots, poles and skis but you can also rent jackets and bibs from…
